Water restrictions still in effect through Aug. 1

The water restrictions imposed by the southwest Florida Water Management District that began on June 5 will remain in effect through Aug. 1, 2017.

Lawn watering is limited to once-per-week, before 8:00 am or after 6:00 pm. Addresses with house numbers ending: 0 or 1 irrigate on Mon.; 2 or 3 irrigate on Tues.; 4 or 5 irrigate on Wed.; 6 or 7 irrigate on Thurs.; 8 or 9, or no address such as a common area, irrigate on Fri.

Handwatering and micro-irrigation of plants (not lawns) can be done on any day at any time when needed. New lawns and plants have a 60-day establishment period: on days 1-30, they may be watered any day of the week; on days 31-60, they may be watered approximately every other day, even-numbered addresses on Tues., Thurs. and Sun., and odd-numbered addresses on Mon., Wed. and Sat.

Residential car washing is limited to once-per-week on the designated watering day for the location. Pressure washing is allowed once a year and for necessary purposes, such as prior to painting or sealing, to maintain a paint or material warranty, to address a health or safety hazard and to comply with health laws. Fountains and other aesthetic water features may only operate eight hours per day, and the hours of operation must be posted.
